Metisa's customer segmentation helps you find the right customer segments for marketing campaigns.
Have a product you want to create a campaign for? Want to create a lookalike audience for high-value customers? These are great use cases for Metisa's customer segmentation.
Before we dive into the ways to identify customer segments, let's do a refresher on how to create customer segments in Metisa.
Creating customer segments
You can create filters in Metisa to find customer segments that you can export into your email newsletters or other campaigns. To create a filter, enter your filter into the textbox in the Segments - Customer.
For more information on how the customer segments work, please refer to our documentation.
How to use customer segments?
You can use Metisa customer segments in the following ways:
- Send email newsletters to customer segment with Metisa
- Export customer segments as CSV
Exporting customer segments as CSV
After you have created a filter, you can export the customer list as a CSV file with all the fields you need. You can also create a customer segment using this that you can send emails with.
1. Customers with affinity for a product category
tag_categories__name ~icontains <category>
Use the query
tag_categories__name ~icontains 'bags' to retrieve customers who like buying your bags.
Note that this query works only if you submit product categories to Metisa and your category name contains the word bag.
2. Customers belonging to a persona
cluster_id = <number>
To retrieve customers in cluster 1, you can use the query
cluster_id = 1. You can learn about your personas in Insight Reports - Personas.
3. High-value customers
clv > <value>
To retrieve customers with CLV greater than $500, you can use the query
clv > 500.
4. At-risk customers
churn_rate > 0.5 and churn_rate <= 0.9
5. Lost customers
churn_rate > 0.9
6. Customers who have not bought before
tag_active = 'member'
7. Customers who have bought more than once
no_of_purchases > 1
8. Customers who have only bought once
tag_active = 'one_time'
