2X engagement uplift with product recommendations

What's the deal with recommendations? 35% apparently. According to a 2006 article, recommendations accounted for 35% of Amazon's sales.

We've been running an A/B test with online stores where A is an email with tailored recommendations for each customer based on their purchasing history and B is an email with recommendations provided by the marketing team. We have been seeing 2X increase in engagements (clicks) with our product recommendations against the test case (see screenshot below).

The increase in engagements go hand in hand with an increase in orders placed and amounts. In many instances, customers buy the products we recommend one or two days after the campaign.

What this means is retailers are making more than 10X ROI by using Metisa on a single campaign each month.
